Vicen Alfonso
Professional singer, gospel choir director, and vocal coach trained in Modern Vocal Training.
My journey in music kicked off in Manresa back in 2000, alongside Ramón Escalé, one of the pioneers of Gospel in our country. Since then, I've never stopped training and growing in this genre that I'm deeply passionate about.
I was lucky enough to expand my training over in England with Daniel Thomas and Bazil Meade, an international icon and the heart and soul of the London Community Gospel Choir. Back in Catalonia, I started directing my own choirs: The River Troupe Gospel (Sallent) and Free Choir (Barcelona)—two projects that have grown right alongside me for over 15 and 10 years, respectively.
In 2023, I made the move to Tarragona to start a fresh chapter with Gospel Hoppers in Reus, adding a third choir to this constantly evolving musical ride.
Directing three gospel and tribute choirs is a high-energy challenge, but more than anything, it's a gift. I feel incredibly lucky to dedicate my life to what I love most: music.
To me, gospel is way more than just a genre. It's a way to share joy, hope, and pure emotion with the crowd. It's that moment when everything just clicks... and a boundless energy is born.

I had the privilege of performing as a professional singer at the Wolfest Festival held at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona and taking home first prize.
